Each contestant should
prepare three entries, at least two of these must be period or in a
period style. Documentation will be presented verbally just before the entry. Extensive documentation is not required, but the presentations may be used to give your audience a framework from which to judge your piece. Original entries are welcome, and should include a small intro on the form/style/subject and why you think this is a period piece. A mix of styles is encouraged, but not required. Judging will be based on the information preceding the piece and the presentation, no formal question and answer period will follow the performance. Champion candidates should read the information from the Baron and Baroness on Champions, and be prepared to fulfill their duties as a Champion of the Barony. Participants should e-mail a brief letter of intent to myself: and Their Excellencies: Letters can also be sent via snail mail. Letters of intent need not be formal, and can be sent anytime up to the day before the event. However, we would appreciate letters prior to that date. The format of the competition is designed to encourage participation of bards of all ages and abilities. Please come share your favorite pieces with us.
