Lionhearts
is a fairly relaxed event for equestrians, with many concurrent activities
and all the
riding you desire. It's a great first event.
We are low
key with activities geared to all levels. Planned activities include:
-
A Speed Quintain Tournament with Heralds
—
team up with a voice herald and show
off your noble prowess. The pomp and show part, where we hope to entertain
spectators.
-
Mounted Archery
—
learn, authorize, or practice.
(We intend to have the course set up all weekend.)
-
A Challenge Course
— involving many of the common SCA
equestrian games as well as some inventive new elements. (This too
should be set up all weekend.)
-
Joust Training Exercises
— practice and develop the
skills needed for jousting, and if we have enough riders and horses ready, put
it all together and joust!
-
Military Drills
—
riding in formation to the commands of a captain is great mental exercise for
horses and riders, and requires no equipment or armor.
-
Ground Crew Class
—
the best way to start getting
involved
and the opportunity to
authorize for various SCA equestrian
activities. For riding
authorizations, please make your own arrangements for a horse to use, then
contact the Equestrian Marshal In Charge (EMIC) to schedule a time.
-
Progresses and Trail Rides
— the site is adjacent to the Snoqualmie Valley
Trail, a large field, and elk-inhabited meadows. Enjoy the scenery!
borders the site. There are no rental horses available.
